    Knowing ourselves should be a priority in our life. If we don't know who we really are, deep down, it becomes more difficult to make decisions about the future, as we don't even know exactly what we want to become.

    How can we go about setting important goals in life or having good relationships with others if we don't even know what we really want? Here then is that knowing ourselves becomes a real challenge, perhaps the most difficult that we can undertake in life. But then our path will be really easier.

    If we do not know ourselves we can find ourselves surrounded by confusion with a great waste of time and with the risk of missing out on many beautiful opportunities.

    We sometimes tend to underestimate the importance of knowing ourselves. For example, many of us live day after day only to arrive in the evening without asking important questions about how to build a better future and without making conscious choices.

    It is difficult to set goals, self-motivate and reach the goal if you are not sure what it is the real goal we want.

    How can we do to know ourselves better? There are many personality tests. more or less serious, who manage to reveal something about us, but the real challenge is made by confronting oneself with one's inner world.

    “Know thyself” is a motto that has come down to us from the ancient world that has been interpreted in many different ways. It is linked, for example, to the figure of Apollo and to the temple dedicated to him in Delphi with the meaning of reminding man of recognize your limitations.



    If we think about it, learning to know what our limits are and what our strengths and abilities are allows us to direct ourselves in life to act according to our real inclinations. Furthermore, the limits we have at the moment are not necessarily insurmountable, quite the contrary.

    Recognizing our limits can help us to commit ourselves to overcome them, especially when it comes to issues related to our emotions that should be unlocked to make us smile again at life.

    Man should become what his deepest nature points out to him. In particular, according to Socrates, he who dedicates himself to knowledge, starting from himself, will be able to achieve lasting happiness, which is essentially the happiness of the soul, an infinite happiness because the soul is immortal.



    For Socrates the Delphic motion of "Know thyself" means "Know your mind, know your soul". And this is probably the challenge we should take to really find out who we are.
