    The data speak for themselves: worldwide deaths due to obesity and overweight went from 2,6 million in 2005 to 3,4 million in the 2010. The Consumers International and World Obesity Federation associations ask governments that the food industry be regulated just like that of tobacco. Some foodsIn fact, pose a great health risk in a different but equally dangerous way than cigarettes.

    According to experts, governments around the world must make up their minds to impose mandatory rules for the food industry and for that of beverages placing not only detailed labels on the product packages but also shock photo of obese people, thus visually showing the harm that eating that food or drink can do to health.

    This however is only one of the many necessary measures according to the two associations. Among other things it is suggested to eliminate completely within the next 5 years artificial fats, decrease the quantity of salt and sugar within the products, increase taxation on junk food, make permissions more difficult the trade in certain foods and beverages e prohibit or limit advertisements of these foods (especially on TV in the time slots dedicated to children).


    However, it is important that these directives are part of a "global convention"To prevent each country from making a law in its own way which in some cases could be too soft and therefore not decisive.
