The homes of the future will allow this and to understand it just take a look at the Jane Fonda-kit house, an experimental project that makes real a tomorrow in which it will be possible to produce part of one's energy needs thanks to physical activity. In fact, the house allows its residents to transform their kinetic energy into energy for cooking or watching television.
Designed by Spanish architects of the Elii studio, the JF-Kit House is designed specifically for the citizen of the future, who is healthy and active (just like Jane Fonda!), and thanks to this he also becomes energetically self-sufficient. How? Making use of new energy display and monitoring devices and tools, such as smart or energy saving energy meters. Perhaps by taking advantage of "energy loans", which will use the energy savings obtained to pay for the house, the creators hypothesize.
JF-Kit, insomma, it is partly a gym, partly a self-sufficient off-grid home. The interior features a line of “home fitness” furniture: it is they who allow residents to produce energy by pedaling a bicycle, exercising and, at the same time, watering the plants.
Kinetic energy generators transform exercise into energy which is used for electrical appliances, raising awareness of the energy and economic costs involved in daily activities. The House, in the architects' intention, shows how the realization of a sustainable future it requires the production of new organisms: bodies that can be productively mobilized within the domestic space as active agents in the energy production process.
