Iso-bloc: the hermetic solution for draft-proof windows

    From Germany comes ISO-bloc®, a new mounting system for windows that promises to completely reduce drafts and eliminate heat loss from window frames.

    He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

    We had already underlined the importance of insulating a building in the best possible "green" way by talking about external insulation. But how to eliminate heat loss where the "coat", for obvious reasons, cannot be applied as in the case of a window? Providing the solution for greater energy savings comes from Germany. It is ISO-bloc®, a new mounting system for windows that promises to completely reduce "drafts" and eliminate heat loss from window frames.

    I thermal bridges they are points of discontinuity in the walls which due to their different nature allow faster thermal exchanges, negatively affecting the insulating system of a building as they constitute, in fact, a preferential path for heat currents to and from the outside. The protrusions, the corners, the different materials represent the most common weakest points of an insulation system. Not to mention the fixtures which, regardless of the material or technology used to make them, turn out to be the "flaw" par excellence of an insulating system.

    This also stems from the same method of installation of the window compartments, the result of the work of five different workers:

    • the bricklayer creates the compartment and inserts the roller shutter box;
    • the carpenter assembles the subframe:
    • the insulator isolates the window jambs;
    • the tinsmith puts down the windowsill;
    • the craftsman assembles the frame.

    Although each of them realizes their work as a work of art, often the materials must be adapted to each other on site during the installation phase, creating additional thermal bridges.

    Iso-bloc: the hermetic solution for draft-proof windowsThe solution proposed by the company that created it ISO-bloc®, Südtirol FENSTER, tries to overcome this gap by creating a monobloc structure which, in addition to reducing the time needed to create a window, also allows to reduce and almost completely eliminate thermal bridges.

    It consists of a subframe to which they are already applied at the factory all the insulating elements in a precise and reliable way, as well as a newly designed box for roller shutters. The result is designed for all types of internal and external sill as well as for shading systems with relative guide.

    The installation of the ISO-bloc® system is quick and easy: it is mounted before the application of the external insulation in the window compartments, protruding by the same measure as the thickness of the insulation on the facade. In this way the window jambs are already insulated. The facade panels are then placed flush with the block. After the plastering and painting phase, any Südtirol-Fenster window or door can be inserted, without creating thermal bridges.

    This hermetic system is adaptable to all housing needs and can be integrated into dry construction, traditional brick walls or concrete constructions.The range includes different variants, all attentive to both functionality and aesthetics: from those with the frame and the door completely covered to those with the fixed glazing mounted directly into the system, without a visible frame. All with a guaranteed hermetic seal.

    Another small precaution, that of the fixtures, which helps to save money and make our home more eco-sustainable because it considerably reduces the energy consumption used for heating the home.
