Here are 4 plausible justifications:

There is not enough Sun

The first possible motivation concerns the position of the lawn: it is possible that do not enjoy the necessary exposure to the sun. Many varieties of grass, in fact, need every day a minimum of 6 hours of direct exposure to sunlight to be able to grow in a healthy and luxuriant way. If, due to its location, your lawn cannot reach this daily dose of sunlight, you can try to choose different, more shade tolerant varieties of grass (taking into account, however, that no species of grass can grow. with less than 2 hours of direct sun a day ...) or you should give up the lawn and try a different type of cultivation, more suited to the characteristics of the space you have available.

There is no nitrogen either phosphorus enough

The second possible explanation is that the Plot of your lawn you lack nutrients, and in particular of nitrogen or phosphorus: this deficiency could hinder or slow down the growth of the grass. If you suspect this is the case, have the nitrogen and phosphorus levels in the soil you want to grow examined and ask an expert what the mix of nutrients (and ecological)more suitable to solve the problem. However, keep in mind that you should never overdo it with substances fertilizers: If a lack of nitrogen or phosphorus can prevent your lawn from growing, their overabundance could compromise its health. In short, don't overdo it!

There is not enough water (or maybe there's too much)

The third explanation seems obvious: a lawn needs the right amount of water to grow. However, precisely in putting into practice this obvious and obvious maxim, some are often fulfilled errors of evaluation which can slow down growth or compromise the splendor of the lawn. Such as water it with an exaggerated amount of water or water it too often but never in sufficient quantities. It is in fact important to keep in mind that the amount of water and the frequency of watering depend not only on the type of lawn, but also on the atmospheric conditions: therefore, even in this case, get well informed about the characteristics of the grass you have planted and avoid exaggerate!

You have a bad habit of cutting the grass too short

A fourth plausible explanation might lie in the habit of mow the lawn too deeply, leaving the grass too short and, consequently, inhibiting or slowing its regrowth and instead favoring the flourishing of the much hated and harmful weeds. It would be correct instead do not cut more than 30% of the length of the grass, to allow your lawn to renew itself in a healthy and balanced way.
