Interactive games to entertain and stimulate your cat without getting bored

Making our cats play interactively is very important to stimulate their curiosity and not make them bored

Cats are royal animals, with their own routines and habits that no owner can change under penalty of teasing, biting, clawing on sofas and curtains and many other attitudes that cats practice to express their dissent. Sometimes, however, behind these behaviors it only hides a bored cat, who is not stimulated enough and who, to distract himself, throws himself at the first things that happen to him. To avoid this and stimulate your cat intellectually there are many games that you can create yourself, reusing material that you surely have at home and that for your cat they can transform from boring and meaningless objects to very interesting pastimes.

These are just a few ideas to do at home to offer your cat new interactive play activities that stimulate his mind:

    • interactive maze puzzle: to make it, you just need an old cardboard box (which will already be intriguing for cats) inside which you can create a real labyrinth as you like. To do this, just use cardboard and compose the paths and place a small ball or snack inside which, however, must not be too easy to take, otherwise the cats, smart as they are, could simply grab it with their paws and solve the game without anyone. effort. In addition to the labyrinth you can make holes of different sizes on the lid of an escarole, inserting more or less large objects that the cat will have to pull out, you can also tie them to a thread depending on the difficulty you want to insert.
    • sock stuffed with catnip: if you have mismatched socks you can fill one with dried catnip or hide a good handful in cotton wool or why not in another sock to insert in the first one. Be generous with catnip because the goal is for the cat to enjoy biting the sock and smell him. Close the sock with a lace if you want your friend to be able to open it or sew the end for a more durable play.
    • dangling jars: in addition to balls and mice, you can create small tilting containers with empty yoghurt pots or the bottom of plastic bottles and hang in one place in the house. Make holes in the sides and thread them with string or any other thread and then hang the container. Place some treats inside and if you want to make the game more complex, put some empty ones too. The cat will have to drop the kibble, overturning the container with its paws and find the right position for this operation.

    Have fun!
