One minute from the station Ikebukuro will open the November 5th the Book and Bed Tokyo, a place halfway between hotel and bookshop.

    The hotel located at seventh floor of a skyscraper was designed by the studio Suppose design office, by architects Makoto Tanijiri e Ai Yoshida. At first glance, it looks like one elegant bookcase and with attention to the smallest details: on the one hand the shelves, on the other comfortable blue sofas with lots of pillows actually, those stairs they are not only used to help readers reach the top-ranked books but also to get to gods real beds.

    The feeling will be that of sleep surrounded by books. Thirty beds available in two sizes: 205 × 85 cm and 205 × 129 cm, eighteen bunk beds, typical of Japanese hotels, in common instead showers and toilets.

    All books have been chosen from the library Shibuya publishing & booksellers located in Shibuya, you can browse tourist guides, manuals with advice for work, novels and magazines. The added value is that the hotel is also open during the day to whom does not stay overnight.
    Currently there are approx 1700 books ma nobody is for sale, the company hopes to expand the hotel's library to 3. Rates range from 3800 to 6 yen, or come on 28 to 45 euros. It's not right around the corner, but if you are staying in Japan take a trip and calmly you will also find gods books in english!
