In Laces (Autonomous Province of Bolzano) the temperature has risen by 11 degrees in 1 hour, thanks to the foehn, the warm wind from the North
He is about to end up run over, his mother saves himFrom -7 ° C to + 4 ° C in one hour. If not a record, certainly a singular episode was recorded this morning in Laces, in Val Venosta (Autonomous Province of Bolzano), when at 5 the weather station marked -7 ° C and at 6 already + 4 ° C. All "fault" of the foehn, the warm north wind.
As Arpa Piemonte explains, foehn is a wind that is dry and often warmer than the pre-existing air mass which, when it occurs in the Alps, causes a drop in currents towards the valleys, reaching strong intensities that can increase the temperature up to 10-20 ° C in a few hours.
Nothing therefore worrying or particularly strange, but certainly a bizarre episode for the speed in which it took place.
