A Rozzano the vertical garden from recrod: it is the largest in the world. The mall FIORDALISO , on the outskirts of Milan entered the Guinness World Record. A commendable world record, certified by the measurements and checks carried out by Lorenzo Veltri, a Guinness judge from London.
Here are the numbers. The garden, a real boundary wall that surrounds part of the Fiordaliso shopping center, has an area of over a thousand square meters, 1.262,85 to be precise. Inside, over 44 thousand plants and over 200 essences grow luxuriantly, including sphagnum, a long-fiber moss from Chile.
The green wall largely covers the main facade of the shopping center and as the curators explain “is an example of sustainable architecture"Which" combines beauty and energy saving while respecting the environment and lays the foundations for the ecology of the future ".
The splendid result of the inventiveness of the architect Francesco Bollani vertical garden offers a very wide range of plant biodiversity at an international level. The plants are mounted in groups of four containers inside a green box of 11 thousand metal boxes. Mind-boggling figures that do not, however, do justice to the beauty of the work, whose particularity is linked to a careful combination of evergreen plants and flowering plants.
In this way, visitors to the Fiordaliso shopping center will be able to admire a constantly changing spectacle that favors the seasons. A feast not only for the eyes but also for the touch, since there are plants such as the soft Festuca (Festuca tenuifolia), and the sense of smell.
The previous record was set by the Spain, with a vertical garden located in Madrid, whose surface, about 844 square meters, has been largely surpassed by that of the vertical garden of Rozzano.
