So starting from 18st January e until February 13th all customers who will show up at the cash desks 310 points of sale of large retailers participating in the initiative, armed with eco-bag or their own envelope, they will be given a special "scratch card" which gives away discount vouchers worth 5 euros to be used immediately, by deducting them from the amount of the receipt.
Thus, while at the national level it is delayed by a year the banning plastic bags, in Turin, not only does the experimentation of bio-compostable shopping bags with the total abolition of the traditional ones planned for April 2th, but virtuous consumers who already adopt responsible behavior will be rewarded (as in the rest of the Region) reusing shopping bags.
The goal of the original, how laudable initiative against the plastic bags, sanctioned with an agreement signed between the Piedmont region and supermarket chains COOP, Conad, Crai and the Giant is to discourage the use of disposable bags and promote the habit of carrying the reusable shopping bag with you.
In all supermarkets participating in the campaign (download thelist in pdf) canvas bags and information brochures will be distributed on environmental initiatives promoted by the Piedmontese council and strongly desired by the environment councilor Nicola De Ruggero such as, for example, the detergents on tap, bulk wine or checking membership recycling of the materials coming from the collection some waste.
