For some years now, the views that can be admired from Castel Sant'Elmo, Naples, have also been visible to the blind. Thanks to a brilliant work created by the artist Paolo Puddu, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples.

Paolo created a handrail which reports, through the use of Braille writing, a description of the rare beauty of the surrounding places. The words reported on it are those of the book "The earth and the man" (1947) by Giuseppe De Lorenzo, an evocative, rather than descriptive path that aims to help the blind to enjoy the city in a new way. of the panorama of Castel Sant'Elmo.

The work was installed in place of the old handrail at the behest of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism as part of the Plan for Contemporary Art, with the collaboration of the Amici di Capodimonte Association.

The permanent work, which dates back to 2017, won the fifth edition of the competition "A work for the castle", focused on the theme of looking elsewhere, "A look elsewhere - Relations and encounters". Really a great idea!
