They are made of carbon fabric especially suitable for sports, but now these masks are tempting to many, including airlines. In Fontaniva, a small town in the province of Padua, masks are produced in technical material that promise to literally go around the world.

The project was born right here, in Veneto, thanks to the insights of Paolo Pandin, CEO of Under Shield, a family company that produces clothing and accessories for athletes. With the pandemic, Paolo decided to provide his experience in the field and start from sports masks.

Using the “Carbon Energized Fiber” technology, they are masks washable e reusable and also available for children in 3 layers, born from the combination of carbon yarns and textile fibers, in a system able to manage the flow of perspiration vapor in such a way as not to unbalance the thermoregulation system and keep the skin dry. In this way, regular breathing is ensured, as well as the integrity of the skin of the face.

Masks, prolonged use is increasing irritation, fungus, acne and dermatitis on the face. How to relieve symptoms

“We now supply pharmacies and health stores, which appreciate our technical performance. Ryanair also chose us for the protection of the company's personnel - Pandin told Il Mattino di Padova. Under Shield's masks are not Dpi, but “the current ffp2 and ffp3 are based on projects from at least 25 years ago. We have put together three layers that have the characteristic of blocking Covid both incoming and outgoing ".

In this regard, the company has carried out a test which is that of "virus penetration using the Phi-X174 bacteriophage which is similar, in size and shape, to the hepatitis C virus, whose lipid envelope has a diameter of approximately 55-65 nm. The viral particles of Covid-19, on the other hand, have a diameter of 60-140 nm. The results obtained are particularly significant because they demonstrate that the material we use represents an effective barrier against viral particles ".
