A Canosa Sannita, a small municipality in province of Chieti, the battle has begun ai disposable diapers in favor of the eco-washable nappies. To promote the awareness campaign, the adviser Piera Graziani which, after having "touched" i advantages of the "old ciripa" participating in the inauguration of a laboratory that produces hand-washable nappies, has decided to spread this practice to all the mothers of the village and to those who work in the world of childhood.

This is how Graziani wanted to share the experience with Canosa Sannita's new parents and nursery schools, organizing an informative meeting with the artisan production workshop.

"With eco-diapers - explained the councilor to theadnkronos - the enormous amount of waste produced each year by 'disposable' diapers is significantly reduced and the environment is respected. In fact, from birth to the potty, each child uses up to 6.000 diapers. Once in landfill, the diapers used in the first three years of life turn into a ton of waste and take 500 years to decompose. In addition, with disposable nappies, 20 large trees are cut down for each child ".

Not to mention that i ecological diapers they can also be used for other children, with significant savings for the domestic economy as well: as Graziani pointed out, "the average expenditure for eco-diapers amounts to about 400 euros for three years (the period of the passage of children from birth to the potty) compared to around 1.500 euros for spending on 'disposable' diapers ".

even the village pediatrician which has just 1.600 inhabitants, present at the meeting, has proven itself extremely favorable to the use of washable nappies since, being made with natural fibers like cotton and hemp, prevent irritation and respect the delicate skin of the little ones.

And also the response of the mothers who attended the presentation of the eco-diapers was enthusiastic: many bought the kit immediately and those absent contacted Graziani for more information about it.

An experience that confirms, therefore, how the dissemination of good practices arises first of all from correct information and communication, starting with public administrations. For our part, having spoken to you several times about all advantages of washable nappies, we give a small contribution by reporting an explanatory video of how to use those of the prefond type:
