The new veterinary hospital will be built in 2022 and promises free care for our four-legged friends with or without a home.

Colombia's first public veterinary hospital will be in Bogota, the Colombian capital. In addition to pets, the new facility will also offer services and medical care to animals living on the street, cases of abuse and emergencies. Without a doubt, an enormous help for those who cannot clearly express their suffering.

Construction will begin in the coming months and will be located south of the Colombian capital, in the Bosa district. The resources for the construction are already part of the municipality's 2022 budget and it is hoped that this inauguration will generate a change in the Colombian capital, bringing safety and well-being to both those who have pets but have no money for visits, and for the animals forced to live on the street.

According to the demographic study carried out by the District Secretariat for Health, in the municipality of Bosa alone there are about 88.445 pets, of which 927 dogs and 508 cats are in a state of abandonment and vulnerability living in foster families.

"It is important to give them back the unconditionality that characterizes them and give them the care they deserve," said Mayor Claudia López Hernández.

This medical center is one of the five most voted projects by citizens to be implemented in 2022. In this hospital, street and house animals will be treated seven days a week and 24 hours a day and its care, emergency and shelter service will be free.
