According to recent research, doing even a few strength exercises and taking high-dose Omega 3 and vitamin D supplements can reduce the risk of developing aggressive and invasive cancer by more than 60%.

According to one study, a combination of vitamin D in high doses, Omega-3 and simple strength exercises at home can help reduce the risk of cancer in healthy adults 61 years of age and older by 70%.




This is the first study to test the combined benefit of these three elements for prevention of invasive tumors, that is, those that grow and develop beyond the original tissue or cells, to spread to surrounding tissues.

Aside from preventative recommendations such as not smoking, always applying sunscreen and having a healthy lifestyle, this combination of multiple elements can help prevent the disease, researchers say.

Several studies have shown that vitamin D inhibits the growth of cancer cells; Similarly, Omega-3s can inhibit the transformation of normal cells into cancerous cells, while exercise has been shown to improve immune function and reduce inflammation, which can aid in cancer prevention.

However, there was a lack of solid clinical studies proving the effectiveness of these three simple interventions, alone or in combination.

A systematic review

The research team tested the effect of Vitamin D3 at a high daily dose (a form of vitamin D supplements), Omega-3 supplements, and a simple strength exercise to do at home on adults aged 70 and over.

The results showed that all three treatments (vitamin D3, Omega-3 and exercise) have benefits on the risk of invasive cancers.

These prevention measures all had little benefit when implemented alone, but when used in unison the benefits became statistically significant, and researchers saw an overall reduction in cancer risk in the elderly of 61%.
