If I change, everything changes

How to change the reality that surrounds us starting from ourselves? If I change everything changes

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

What we are determines our reality. It is not just the so-called "self-fulfilling prophecy”, Of the fact that if we feel the speech bubble by Fantozzi sooner or later it will rain on our heads. Certainly these aspects have their own importance: our vision of the world, how we perceive and feel it make the difference. For example: if I am convinced that a certain group of people cannot be trusted, when I meet them I will have a closed attitude, I will be on the defensive, maybe I will also have a slightly aggressive attitude. Very easily my approach will determine in those people, as a reaction, the very behaviors that I expected. But it's not just about prejudices and expectations.

Our ability to deal with problems and situations, to learn from them - also called Resilience - changes our subjective reality; thus, certain events can be traumatic for someone (so critical as to overcome personal management skills, produce a "break" that will be worked out - and it will take time - to be "integrated" into consciousness), for other individuals instead they will represent difficulties extremely demanding, trying and perhaps debilitating but without traumatic connotations.

The good news is that we can all choose to be different people, to change our reality. As mathematics teaches us, if one factor changes, the whole “problem” changes: it is a question, therefore, of choosing to engage in personal development.

What are the directions of work?

Mainly two. We can certainly begin to observe ours beliefs, thoughts and "thought forms" - with all their defensive, misleading messages inherited from the cultural and family environment or expression of our previous experiences - and the consequences they bring about. Approaching a "non-automatic" and preconceived thought, more aware and capable of evaluating not a priori but on the basis of the information actually present, predisposes to a different opening, allows you to see new things, allows you to get out of the "usual distorting lenses". Not by chance, Honoré de Balzac he stated: “although nothing changes, if I change, everything changes”.

If I change, everything changes

Undoubtedly, however, the most relevant theme in our life is us, in our totality; and that's why developing a greater empathic capacity, a loving inner state (which has as its goal not only one's own good but that of all) will be the lever that will make the real difference: through our actions, the choices, a new gaze and a thought without prejudices, can bring about an even more significant change not only in us but also, concretely, around us. A bit like yeast does with bread.
