Ice skating: the snowy owl in Yves Adams' photos

Photographer Yves Adams braved the freezing cold of Montreal (minus 20 degrees) and followed a specimen of snowy owl all day to be able to immortalize this beautiful bird in three images that are traveling around the world. His camera was able, in fact, to fix the owl with one leg stretched behind while it is balanced on a claw giving the impression of ice skating with an unusual smile.

“I really wanted to get close to this bird - Adams tells the Daily Mail - so I crawled very slowly through the snow for an hour or so. Eventually I got very close, maybe 15 meters away, but the owl was very relaxed. It was a beautiful scene to watch, despite the cold. Even though the bird was in a deep sleep, his eyes peeked out recording every movement I made. Suddenly he woke up and stretched. All of this happened within seconds, so I had to react very very quickly “.
