Generally the ice cream diet it is followed for only one week and depending on the case it allows lose 2-3 pounds quickly. It can then be repeated over time, letting for example a month pass before following it again.

What to eat on the ice cream diet?

Of course we focus in particular on which type of ice cream would be better to choose. As already said, the fruit variants are better as they are less caloric but a mozzarella ice cream with fresh fruit or a mix of creams and fruit is also allowed. In fact, consider that ice cream contains different calories depending on the chosen flavor:

  • Coconut Ice cream: 240 calories per 100 grams
  • Fior di latte ice cream: 218 calories per 100 grams
  • Pistachio ice cream: 200 calories per 100 grams
  • Hazelnut ice cream: 185 calories per 100 grams
  • Vanilla ice cream: 180 calories per 100 grams
  • Lemon Ice Cream: 130 calories per 100 grams
  • Strawberry ice cream: 120 calories per 100 grams
  • Soy milk ice cream: 102 calories per 100 grams

It would be good to prefer the homemade ice cream rather than the industrial or packaged one that contains a long list of not exactly healthy and natural ingredients even if it is generally less caloric.



Sand you are intolerant to milk or vegan it is obviously possible to replace the traditional ice cream with that made from soy milk or rice milk.

Weekly menu scheme

We present a possible food scheme of the ice cream diet in which at lunch you replace the meal with this food and for the rest of the day you follow a normal Mediterranean-style diet. Naturally this is only a generic indication, ask a nutritionist for advice which will show you the best diet designed for your specific needs.

MONDAY'

Breakfast: yogurt or milk (including vegetables), whole grain muesli and fruit
Lunch: mixed fruit ice cream
Price: vegetable soup with wholemeal bread croutons

TUESDAY'

Breakfast: juice or extract, tea or infusion with wholemeal bread, cold cuts or chickpea hummus
Lunch: fiordilatte ice cream with fresh fruit on top

WEDNESDAY'

Breakfast: toast with wholemeal bread with ricotta
Lunch: half ice cream half fruit cream
Price: escalopes with vegetables and a wholemeal sandwich
Snacks: fruit, yogurt or biscuits

THURSDAY'

Breakfast: yogurt or milk (including vegetables), whole grain muesli and fruit
Lunch: cream ice cream
Price: eggs with seasonal vegetables and bread
Snacks: fruit, yogurt or biscuits

FRIDAY'

Breakfast: juice or extract, tea or infusion with wholemeal bread, cold cuts or chickpea hummus
Lunch: yogurt ice cream with fresh fruit on top
Price: risotto and salad
Snacks: fruit, yogurt or biscuits

Saturday

Breakfast: toast with wholemeal bread, cheese or cold cuts
Lunch: mixed fruit ice cream
Price: pasta and beans or legumes and vegetables
Snacks: fruit, yogurt or biscuits

Sunday

Breakfast: yogurt or milk (including vegetables), whole grain muesli and fruit
Lunch: half fruit ice cream
Price: spelled or barley salad with seasonal vegetables
Snacks: fruit, yogurt or biscuits

The opinion of the nutritionist Pietro Migliaccio

The well-known nutritionist Pietro Migliaccio spoke positively about the ice cream diet. Obviously this food should never be added at the end of a meal but eaten individually, only in this way can it be a friend of our line.

According to the expert, it is possible to follow the ice cream diet for only one week but even every other week, obviously not if you have diabetes or are obese.

Ice cream diet, contraindications

The ice cream diet is a one-time diet to achieve rapid weight loss. This however it has no long-term effects and it is not unlikely that those who follow it, once they return to their usual diet, will also take back what had been lost.

In fact, we do not try to educate about proper nutrition but we promote it a simple and tasty trick to lose a few pounds quickly. It can therefore be useful on special occasions but not if you want to seriously do work on your body for which we always recommend that you contact an expert who will evaluate the situation of the individual person specifically.

The ice cream diet is not recommended for diabetes sufferers and obese people for which it is necessary to make a type of controlled feeding much more targeted and of a different kind.
