Obtaining drinking water from the air is possible and can be done using only the energy of the sun. How? Thanks to Source, a solar-powered device, similar to a panel, but capable of accumulating up to 10 liters of water per day from the air. We already told you about it last spring but now the device is on sale in the USA.
Fully offgrid, Source uses advanced water capture technology. Although production may vary depending on weather conditions and geographic location, the device has been designed to work in various situations and can produce water even in low or medium sunlight and humidity conditions.
How Source works
Made by Zero Mass Water, a company based in Arizona, Source captures the water vapor present in the air and transforms it into liquid. Apparently it resembles classic photovoltaic panels but instead of producing electricity it generates drinking water.
Source consists of two hydro panels and other additional panels necessary for the production of water. They must be installed on the roof of a building, where they can produce an average of 4-10 liters of water per day. A 30-liter tank stores the collected water and mineralizes it with calcium and magnesium, and the device's outflow can be connected directly to the tap inside the building for ease of use.

According to Zero Mass Water, no maintenance is required other than annual filter changes and mineral cartridge replacement every five years.
From November 22 on sale in the United States
Although the system was created six years ago and has been provided for the past two years to institutions and associations for emergencies, the company has just recently announced that the water panels are available in the United States at a cost of approximately $ 2000.
