Take an old chest of drawers, lots of fertile soil and many green and luxuriant plants. Here's what it takes to create a delicious one mini garden from an old disused chest of drawers, as did Curt and Jessica, a young couple from Los Angeles, from the blog Grizzly Bear Modern.
The chest of drawers, in fact, no longer had a very pleasant aspect, irremediably marked by time and in contrast with the new furniture of their home. But for the owners to throw away that piece of furniture, with yours three large and spacious drawers, that would have been a real shame. Here, then, was the enlightenment: it would have been nice fill them with lots of plants and flowers to replace the linen now in its place elsewhere.
The transformation was as simple as it was effective: a few minutes were enough, including those dedicated to transporting the furniture from inside the house to the outdoor terrace, to create a garden furniture that now gives a lot of charm to the outdoor area of the house. Filled with pots, plants and flowers, the new green space also has drawers that can be opened to different lengths or closed to protect the plants.
Curt and Jessica, after drilling holes in the bottom for water drainage, decided to plant many succulents, living in a hot and dry climate, so that they could last as long as possible in the new living environment. But in the garden chest of drawers you can plant any plant you want, depending on the season and your tastes.
In fact, it is a matter of one successful and easily replicable conversion experiment, although it would be better not to expose the "creation" directly to the fury of atmospheric agents, since the wood could deteriorate. That said, why not try?
