How to make DIY candles in minutes? At this time of the year, they come to meet us citrus fruits: taking advantage of their peel, in fact, it is possible to create nice candles with a few gestures from the orange we eat in our snack.

    needed:

    1. 1) Orange, clementine, grapefruit
    1. 2) Sharp knife
    1. 3) Any type of vegetable oil (olive, corn, soy)

The most difficult step is certainly that of remove / eat the central portion of the orange being careful to leave the central stem intact. I personally cut the orange in two and removed the pulp using a sharp knife starting from the outer edge. The operation will therefore be easier with some qualities of oranges - such as tarocco - than in others in which the "stem" is not very clear. It becomes even easier with, for example, clementines. In this case it will be enough - without previously cutting the mandarin in two - to engrave the edge of the peel by tracing a circumference and then removing half of the necessary peel that will come off much more simply with a lot of intact stem.

At this point it will simply serve fill the cavity with vegetable oil (I used the olive one) just below the central stem used as a wick. The candle, you will see, will be able to burn for several hours, also emitting a good scent in the air.

If desired, it is possible with the other half of the peel to obtain the "lid" simply by making a central hole at the base.

Some recommendations however, starting from what would seem obvious, they are obliged not to place the candle near flammable objects, but in places where you can always keep an eye on it, in order to avoid unpleasant accidents. In short, like all candles, it is better not to leave it unattended and make sure that it is not tilted (even if mine is coming a bit wrong to tell the truth) as the oil could leak out and catch fire on the skin itself.
