If to keep the high pressure o treat heart problems use the drug Atenolol-Mepha®, be careful. Just recently, the Swiss pharmaceutical company Mepha Pharma AG has ordered the recall of one of the batches of the product as it contains a slightly lower amount of the active ingredient atenolol. Therefore, the effect on the body could be milder.
As also reported on the website of the Swiss Federal Council, the withdrawal concerns exclusively the production batch X15124F of Atenolol-Mepha® 25mg Lactab® 100, che shows the deadline deadline 07/2026.
If you have purchased the medicine in question - also prescribed to protect the heart muscle from overexertion (angina pectoris) - do not use it and contact your doctor for a possible replacement therapy. You can return it to the pharmacy and ask for a refund.
