After nearly three years, Blond got justice. This was the name with which the adorable neighborhood dog of Monteroni (Lecce) was renamed, hit and killed on the night of 5 June 2019 by a car driver driving an SUV.
The terrible images taken by the cameras had given rise to the suspicion of a voluntary killing of the poor little dog regularly microchipped and loved by all. A Range Rover could clearly be seen as he swept Biondo with his wheels as he dozed on the pavement. Seeing those scenes, the zoophile guards of the National Animal Protection Agency of Lecce immediately intervened to report the serious episode.
An exemplary sentence (which we hope will serve as a warning)
At the time of the events, the 32-year-old had been indicted for killing animals and the National Animal Protection Authority had entered a civil party in the trial. Finally today a historic sentence has arrived from the Court of Lecce: the man was sentenced to the maximum penalty, to two years of imprisonment and to compensation for damages against the civil parties of 10.000 each.
