We are in Hungary, in the province of Baranya, and the facts date back to this summer: here in Orfű, on Lake Pécs, an individual was very upset by the presence of swans that prevented him from taking a swim and so he thought it best to break the neck of one of them .
The prosecutor's office immediately accused the man of killing the poor animal and asked the court to sentence him to imprisonment.

According to what is learned from the local police website, the Pécs Police Headquarters is now investigating a 33-year-old local man for committing torture on animals.

On the morning of July 30, 2020, the man was with his family in Orfű, on Lake Pécs, then entered the water and without thinking twice broke the neck of one of the swans.
The police captured the man and took him to the police station. In his interrogation as a suspect, he admitted to having committed the crime, but he justified his heinous action of him because "disturbed by the swans near the shore", so he would have acted out of a sudden upset but did not want the animal to die.
For now, a criminal case has been initiated against the man. If the crime of torture on animals is confirmed, the Pécs District Court will take a decision of the first instance.
