H&M e Pringle of Scotland have decided to launch a new line of coordinated clothes for humans and dogs. But do we really need it?

The two well-known brands have collaborated to create an autumn knitwear line designed for those who dress their dogs and love that they are matched in all respects to their owners. The clothes for humans in this collection are therefore perfectly coordinated with dog sweaters with matching prints and colors.

However, the new line does not only include sweaters but also trousers, skirts, sweatshirts and accessories, all at the usual low price typical of the brand. Not necessarily, however, you have to buy the coordinated for the dog, all the clothes and accessories are sold individually, but obviously the strong point of the collection is precisely the possibility of being fashionable with your dog.

The collaboration with Pringle hit all stores in the UK and Ireland but also online earlier this month and is part of the linea Conscious, which means the clothing has been made with a greater focus on the environment, using recycled polyester and organic cotton.

H&M is known for its designer partnerships and this is just the latest in a long line.

It seems that in the first days of sale, the line of coordinated products for dogs and owners has been selling like hot cakes, has therefore found great success among those who are already customers of the brand and has also managed to grab some new buyers.

But what is the point of this habit of dressing dogs as if they were themselves? And isn't this new collection perhaps once again the symbol of a disposable fashion that tempts us and "convinces" us to buy things we don't need and which sooner or later (more likely soon) we will get tired? A low cost fashion that too often hides exploitation and low quality materials and which is filling the planet with textile waste.

If our dog needs a coat, we can always make it at home from an old sweater and who knows if it's not equally stylish!
