Not only that, in fact, it is produced with 100% recycled corrugated cardboard (the cartons on the market are only 60%) and completely devoid of the infamous flatates, but thanks to the thoughtful introduction of special pre-perforated lines, Green Box is able to cover three different functions in one:
1) Box for pizza;
2) Plate to eat it;
3) Space-saving container to keep it in the fridge.
With all the consequent advantages also in terms of attention to the environment. The underlying mechanism is simple, and actually looking at the video one wonders why we never thought about it before:
Once divided in two, the top lid literally bends over backwards to contain and distribute the slices of pizza among friends, without having to dirty the dishes (thus saving on water and detergent to wash them), much less use those of disposable paper.
And if, for some strange reason, the pizza should move forward, do not worry because the remaining half of the green box will easily fold in two to fit perfectly into the fridge shelf, thus avoiding using Tupperware (and the consequent washing) or waste aluminum paper to wrap the "leftovers". And when all is over, you can safely throw the cardboard into the paper bucket, without burdens on your conscience why totally biodegradable e 100% recyclable again.
The company that designed and patented it, Eco Incorperated is now looking for companies to sponsor and market it, leveraging the benefits, practically at no cost, that companies would have in terms of social responsibility in the eyes of consumers. This explains the pompous claim adopted "Green Box: our Planet, our responsability".
While waiting to see the Green Box adopted by some large chain of pizzerias, we could, in the meantime, take inspiration and, armed with a knife, try to put it into practice at the next home delivery. Of course, maybe the result won't be perfect, but maybe the planet will be grateful to us all the same. The person who would have had the plates and silverware for the evening, for sure.
