He was the tallest dog in the world, an 8-year-old puppy awarded by the Guinness World Record in 2016. Freddy left us yesterday at just 8 years old. A gentle giant adored and pampered by his human family, who later became an international star after finishing in the Guinness Book of Records due to his imposing height.

Standing, on the hind legs it was 2,26 cm high while from the legs to the back it was 103,5 cm. Freddy's owner Claire Stoneman who lives in Essex (UK) was shocked by the death of her beloved pet:

“He wasn't just the tallest dog, but the dog with the most love and the biggest heart. A totally cheesy mestizo. It was my life. My reason. My joy. My irritation. My happiness and my ultimate sadness. It was my heart ”are the words of him at the Guinness World Record.

The woman recounts the day Freddy entered her life. He was the youngest of the litter and Claire brought him with her a couple of weeks earlier than she was supposed to.

"I had no idea it was going to get that big."

Given his size, in 2016 Claire decides to participate in the Guinness World Records and in 2016 her Freddy wins the title of tallest dog in the world.

“Freddy was such a nice giant and it was always a pleasure to see him leap towards us. Measuring this dog mountain was an unforgettable, albeit challenging, experience ”are the words of the editor-in-chief of Guinness World Records. “I can still barely believe he was the youngest of the litter. Freddy has brought a smile to everyone's face and will miss the Guinness Book of Records. I'm just glad we had the chance to celebrate his record-breaking immensity in the books and share his story with millions of people around the world. "

For days, the Guinness World Records team photographed and lived together and Claire and Freddy in their Leigh-on-Sea home. Initially the dog was suspicious and shy but after familiarizing himself with the vet and the team he won their hearts.

In fact, before Freddy, the holder of the Guinness World Records title was Zeus who in 2011 measured 111,8 cm, then disappeared in 2014. Since 2016, the title has been held by Freddy.

May the earth be light to you, good bridge!
