In fact, ginger has been cultivated as a medicinal plant and consumed for therapeutic purposes since ancient times: not only stimulates digestion and circulation but is known for action antiulcer, for its beneficial effects on biliary secretion, as an analgesic and bactericide. In Western cuisine, ginger - unlike other spices - not much used yet: it is more used in beverages (for example in Ginger ale) and gives them a slightly spicy aftertaste. Today we offer you the recipe for an original ginger-based drink: fresh and healthy. To prepare it you need a few simple ingredients.

ingredients:

  • 1 fresh ginger root about 5 cm long
  • 1 and a half liters of water
  • 1 lemon
  • sugar (about 200 grams)

Preparation

First thing pour the water into a saucepan. Peel the ginger root e grate it entirely: then pour the grated ginger into the pot and bring to a boil.

Let it boil for about 15 minutes, then turn off the heat and let the liquid cool.

Once cooled, pour it into a jug and put it in the fridge to cool further. When it has reached the desired temperature, add it XNUMX/XNUMX cup sugar (better if cane, dosing the quantity according to your personal taste) and mix vigorously until absorbed.



Finally add the juice of one lemon.

Et voilà: the drink is ready to be served, preferably with ice, and to refresh your late summer days .. but not only! We are sure that it can also become a tasty and healthy aperitif for your autumn evenings.
