The wealth of life forms present on our planet never ceases to amaze us. In Australiaa new species of snail has been identified within a real biodiversity paradise. It is about large snails and from the characteristic pink color access. Their presence is located within a natural habitat defined as unique in the world.

This is Mount Kaputar, located in the resort of New South Wales, along which there is an alpine forest populated by living organisms whose presence has never been identified elsewhere on our planet. Within an ecosystem of this particularly isolated mountain area, only a few people have been able to enjoy the good fortune of closely observing the giant Australian snails, with their lively color shocking pink.

Michael Murphy, one of the guards of the National Park and Wildlife Service, was one of the first to be able to closely observe an example of such extraordinary creatures, only recently identified by experts. Giant snails feature a length of about 20cm and would live only in the vicinity of the top of the Monte Kaputar.

Locals had often detected the presence of bizarre snails with an unmistakable bright pink color in the area of Mount Kapatur, especially after heavy rains, but only recently have scientists been able to officially declare that they are in the presence of a new species, which received the name of Triboniophorus aff. graeffei and which is currently exclusive to the Australian mountain.

The giant snails, during the evening and night hours, move among the trees in search of their nourishment, consisting of moss and mold. However, the hot pink snails are not the only rare crawling animal species present in the area. The experts would also have identified carnivorous snails, indeed cannibal, that is, able to feed on beings belonging to his own species. Nature, once again, leaves us amazed, and we should do nothing but stop to admire it and commit ourselves to protect it.
