Gatto invades a football field: he was lost and thus finds his family

He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

A very sweet story with a happy ending comes to us from the football fields of the United Kingdom. The protagonist is a kitten named Topsey, who last Wednesday he "invaded" the field where a match was taking place between the home team Sheffield Wednesday and the Scottish Wigan Athletic – match per l’English Football League.

The video of the invasion, which went viral, shows the kitten starting to run around the field and the football action that is immediately stopped: the player Jason Kerr, defender of Wigan, begins to chase the small animal who, very frightened, tries to run away. Then we see the player change tactics, and calmly approach Topsey so as not to disturb her further.

After a few attempts, he manages to pick her up and entrust her to the staff on the sidelines. The official Sheffield Wednesday Twitter page will then announce that some vets have taken care of the kitten, providing her with health care and food.

But the story did not end there: during the check-up visit, the vets realized that the animal had been implanted with an identification microchip, which allowed to contact its owners. Topsey had been away from home since last August and her human family had by now given her up for dead, since she had never returned home and that the social campaigns to try to find her had not had any effect.

The echo of the striking gesture made by the kitten was enough to bring her home, in the arms of Mrs. Alison Jubb who said she was moved and incredulous about this story and who thanked the stadium staff for taking care of Topsey and for having returned it to him safe and sound.

In short, all is well what ends well. For the record, the match was won by the home team but player Jason Kerr he won for the sweetness of his gesture and for the attention shown to the little kitten!
