Garlic 2.0 is the first kitten resulting from a cloning, born in July of this year in China after a year of trying.

The cat is the result of the work of the Sinogene company of Beijing, a company that deals with cloning of pets and that to date has already cloned 40 dogs.

The birth of Garlic 2.0 did not take place within a scientific experiment, but rather at the behest of Huang Yu, grief-stricken after the loss of the first Garlic, who died at the age of 2 and a half.

The owner of the cat could not resign himself, so he turned to Sinogene to have a copy equal in all respects to the original Garlic.

According to the company's veterinarians, cloning felines is particularly difficult due to their reproductive cycle, e several experiments were required before being able to transfer the embryo to a surrogate cat, who then gave the world the clone of Garlic.

Garlic 2.0, genetically identical to the original Garlic, is growing and in excellent health and does not exhibit behaviors different from those of naturally born puppies.

Huang Yu he paid out the huge sum of 35 thousand dollars for having Garlic 2.0 and, although the kitten is the same as her previous cat, she stated of still miss the first Garlic.

This is probably due to the fact that each cat is unique: there are no guarantees that the clone is characteristically similar to the specimen with which it shares the genetic heritage since every living being develops its own personality which not only depends on the genetic makeup, but is influenced by numerous external factors.

Perhaps Huang Yu would have done better to process the loss of his beloved Garlic and, once the grief is over, offer his love to one of the many cats born naturally and forced to live on the street.
