Yesterday, Prime Minister Conte together with Di Maio and Salvini recreated himself in Caserta to sign the protocol on the Land of Fires. Aurora looked political representatives in the eyes asking for help, really showing on her skin the effects of the poisons that have contaminated her home for years.
“I came here to ask for your help. While you are here, a 12 year old friend of mine died this morning and this is not fair. You have to do something for us ”are the harsh words of the little girl, who she decided to fight not only against the disease but also against the silence and inactivity of the institutions.
To do this, she became a promoter of the'"Land of hearts" association. The little girl participated in the signing of the protocol together with her mother, the reporter Marilena Natale for some time under escort precisely for having denounced what is happening in the Aversano countryside, between pollution and malfeasance and Don Patriciello.
“Aurora is the first of a million reasons not to back down an inch on what we are doing for the Land of Fires. She has founded an association to help other sick children like her which is called "Land of Hearts". I would like that once those cursed fires are extinguished, this land is called just that. I promised you that we will do everything we can. This is the most difficult challenge we have. But our team loves this land. Come on #TerraMia! " are the words by Luigi Di Maio.
“Today is an important day. We have promised it and we are doing it: we have brought our operational plan to the land of fires to tackle the drama of toxic fires from the root, which leave thousands of citizens in anguish. They are more than 25 shares which involved among the other ministers Alfonso Bonafede Luigi Di Maio Barbara Lezzi Giulia Grillo and with them we brought him this evening to the stage in Caivano to tell all the citizens who fight against pollution that they are not alone " adds the Minister of the Environment Sergio Costa.
What does the Action Plan against the Land of Fires foresee
The plan is divided into 3 areas: health, environmental protection, territorial protection, divided into 25 prevention measures. Among other innovations, the closure of illegal companies that produce and bury waste. More responsibility also for the prefects, who will be able to decide where to send the army compared to the sites considered to be at higher risk. Work will also be done on the environmental remediation of sites of national interest (SIN). Finally, controls on sensitive waste storage sites will be intensified
Let's hope it's really the right time. No other child has to suffer and die from the toxic fires.
