The products are in fact handcrafted by local inhabitants: in most cases it is young mothers of families, a generally inactive segment of the population, since, in the local culture, a mother cannot leave her children to go to work and the task of supporting the family rests exclusively with the father.

To these women Ceylon Paper Pottery offers the opportunity to work from home, to enjoy one source of income without violating any custom or tradition. The products worked by the young artisans are then perfected and finished in the company, before being marketed all over the world.

The ceramics of Ceylon Paper Pottery consist of a hybrid material, which arises from waste processing of wood and waste of paper and from them mixture with sand. Artifacts have the appearance of objects of cardboard homemade, even if with the compactness and the tightness of the terracotta, and they are both resistant towater and biodegradable to 100% - unlike "traditional" ceramics, which are not recoverable.

The collections are updated and renewed every year: while maintaining a common imprint, in the sober and linear style, in the compactness and in the ecological characteristics, the new creations try every year to follow fashion and trends, changing colors, shapes, decorations and applications.
