From Electrolux vacuum cleaners made by recycling the plastic of the Oceans

From the plastic that pollutes seas and oceans all over the world and that in the Pacific has even given birth to the famous Pacific Garbage Patch, as we have seen, there are those who even want to build a floating and habitable island. But there are also those who, to set a good example, want to build vacuum cleaners. This is the case of Electrolux, the well-known Swedish manufacturer of household appliances that launched the Vac from the sea ”campaign to give new life, even symbolic, to the enormous amount of waste and plastic floating in the planet's waters.

He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

Sweden sucks up the waste from the seas. Dalla plastic and pollutes seas and oceans from all over the world and that in the Pacific gave birth to the famous one Pacific Garbage Patch, as we have seen, there are those who even want to build us afloating and habitable island. But there are also those who, to set a good example, want to build us some vacuum cleaners. This is the case ofElectrolux, the well-known Swedish company producing appliances who started the campaign “Vac from the sea” to give new life, even symbolic, to the enormous amount of waste and plastic that float in the waters of the planet.

Drawing from the monstrous islands of garbage floats from the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans but also from the waste of the three European seas, the Scandinavian company will give life to six avant-garde as well as ecological vacuum cleaners which will not (at least initially) have commercial purposes, but will simply be displayed in a "showcase" to raise public awareness of a serious problem that is too often ignored. Furthermore, the Vac from the sea campaign wants also act as a warning to underline the scarce supply of recycled plastics in the face of a greater demand from companies to build eco-friendly appliances.

As stated by the vice president of Electrolux Cecilia North: "There are plastic islands, sometimes very large even the size of the state of Texas, which float in our oceans and yet, on land, we struggle to get hold of sufficient recycled plastics to meet the demand for sustainable vacuum cleaneri".

This is precisely the most important aspect: to open our eyes to a problem that also Greenpeace has repeatedly highlighted. Over ten million tons of plastics are produced every year, of which 10% ends duly in marine surfaces.

Studies claim that there are at least a couple of floating continents made up solely of junk that are adrift of our seas. Others, on the other hand, could be created as some scientists have been arguing for some time. In fact, it seems that in the Antarctic there is "the vanguard of a new wave".

What are we waiting for then? May the large multinationals take an example from this interesting Swedish project and begin to "suck up" waste!
