Learning how to make tassels is not at all challenging and once you master the basic technique, you can experiment with as many alternatives as you like.

What you need is a hardcover book, scissors, wool thread or twine, thick embroidery thread of your favorite color. 

  • Wrap the twine, or if you prefer wool, around the book. Choose one of the length of the tassel you want to make.
  • Take another piece of string (or wool thread) and pass it under the one you wrapped, then slide it up and tie a knot. 
  • Now slide all the twine by removing the book, tie a second knot to secure the top and with scissors cut the threads at the bottom. 
  • Take the embroidery thread and tie it around the neck of the tassel, removing the ends.

By adding tassels to your pillows, you will make them unique and original. You can apply them on the corners or on the front.
