The smell, texture and color of urine they can be evaluated to understand not only what we ate and our degree of hydration but also, in some cases, make us suspect the presence of certain diseases.
Urine is made up mostly of water (at least 95%), but the rest is a surprising complexity of ingredients they include urea, chloride, sodium, potassium, creatinine and other dissolved ions, as well as various inorganic and organic compounds. The most common color of urine is yellow, caused by the presence of urobilin, a biochemical waste product generated by the breakdown of old red blood cells.
Urine may have, depending on the case, a different color that generally ranges from transparent yellow to intense yellow but, in some cases, also dyed red. In any case, keep in mind that there may be some external factors that can affect the color of your urine. These are different types of drugs including laxatives and chemotherapy drugs. If you are undergoing medical treatment and you see a change in the color of your urine, it is better to ask the specialist if changes in this sense are normal.
Let's now discover the different possible colors of urine.
Clear and transparent urine
When the urine is clear and transparent it simply means that you are drinking too much water. Just reduce consumption to see the liquid return to a more yellow color. Excessive hydration, while not as dangerous as dehydration, can still create a problematic chemical imbalance in the blood.
When the urine is pale yellow this indicates a good degree of hydration of the organism and more generally good health.
Even the lighter yellow than the straw yellow it indicates good health.
In most cases a dark yellow colored urine signals the need to drink more water.
Amber or honey
Urine that tends to be honey yellow or amber is too focused. It is therefore necessary drink a lot of water.
Yellow tending to brown
When urine takes on a brownish or even brownish color it could indicate severe dehydration or the presence of some liver disease. If, despite drinking at least 1 and a half liters or 2 of water a day, the color does not change, it is advisable to consult your doctor.
Pink or Red
If you have consumed foods such as beets and blueberries do not worry it is only the residual color of these foods. If not, better go to the bottom, it could be urinary infections or prostate problems but also to be a warning of more serious pathologies such as kidney disease or cancer.

Green or blue
Eating asparagus can, in some people, cause urine to be produced that tends to green (everyone instead sees the smell transformed). The same goes for urine which tends to blue: often a consequence of the use of certain drugs or dyes and only in rare cases of metabolic disorders. To be on the safe side, always contact your doctor.
