Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

Fenugreek is a very powerful ally of beauty and health. Both the leaves and the seeds of this ancient plant are used, however the latter are used in many preparations as they are rich in B vitamins, proteins, lipids, iron, manganese, silicon, calcium and phosphorus, but also in saponins, in fact having a washing action.

The precious mucilages of the seeds are ideal for giving softness, definition and hydration to all hair types and in fact the fenugreek compress is a hydration bomb that however must be prepared in the right way, as it is not very simple and presents pitfalls that could discourage the most daring, but we assure you that once you have done this compress, you will not regret nothing of the energy employed.

Let's find out step by step everything you need to know about this wrap and how to make it at home step by step.

How long does it take to prepare the compress?

Fenugreek compress is prepared by vigorously mixing its powder with very hot water for about 40 minutes or so, but be careful because fenugreek needs 12 hours to better hydrate. This does not mean that we must turn the mixture every bit, but the pack must be prepared the day before and left to rest for this time at room temperature, covered.

Recommendations

Fenugreek compress goes applied to clean hair, slightly moistened. It is in fact a sort of post-shampoo treatment that you can also apply in the days following the washing, as long as your hair is clean.

After keeping the compress in place, it should be rinsed simply with water and not with the shampoo which would nullify the action of the fenugreek. At most you can use a conditioner to comb the hair under water and then proceed with the styling products, but no shampoo!

Fenugreek is contraindicated in pregnancy or in the case of thyroid problems. If this is your case, consult your doctor before trying the compress or fenugreek in general.

Preparation

For the preparation of the compress you will need:

  • fenugreek powder;
  • very hot water, almost boiling.

And also of:

  • a small bowl not too big, but high;
  • a whisk for sweets;
  • a pot of water and a ladle or kettle;
  • a colander;
  • hand blender in case of lumps.

As you have noticed, the doses are not shown because these are not important in the sense that depending on the powder you will use, it will take a certain amount of water that the fenugreek will go to absorb.

No more chatter, let's get started.

Bring a pot of water or a kettle to a boil and in the meantime pour a certain amount of powder into the bowl, let's say 2 tablespoons. When the water is hot, pour a moderate initial amount into the bowl and start stirring until it is completely absorbed. Proceed like this, little by little, without being in a hurry and you will see that the mixture will begin to swell.

For every drop of water, you will need to mix a lot until your pack is nice and thick again and ready to absorb even more water. If you notice any lumps that just don't go away, get the hand blender to help, and blend everything. There will be no trace of them.

Once you reach a not too full-bodied consistency and when the fenugreek "writes" then you can cover the bowl and count 12 hours from that moment.

After 12 hours, if your pack is too thick, always stretch it with more hot water and then apply it on damp hair, keeping it posing for at least 45 minutes, covering the hair with a cap and even better if with a wool cap on it.

Advice

Fenugreek compress can be frozen so you can make a lot more of it and store it in the freezer for the next few times. We still recommend apply it no more than once a month.

If the following day the mixture is too liquid then you can thicken it by adding other herbs such as alma or shikakai or even corn starch gel.

Be careful not to be hasty and not to hydrate well the fenugreek which, if prepared incorrectly, in addition to not giving any benefit, could even take hydration from your hair, making it even drier.
