Felix Finkbeiner: the child who planted trees

Felix Finkbeiner was only 9 years old when - after a lesson from his elementary school teacher on chlorophyll photosynthesis - he decided to plant his first tree on the windowsill of his school, only to exclaim "I will plant a million trees in Germany". No sooner said than done. Felix is not a fickle child and his project really brought it to an end and from there he set a long series of other goals to save the planet: plant as many trees as possible to reduce the harmful effect of CO2.

Felix Finkbeiner he was only 9 years old when - after a lesson from his elementary school teacher on photosynthesis chlorophyll - he decided to plant its first sapling on the windowsill of his school, to then exclaim "I will plant a million trees in Germany". No sooner said than done. Felix is not a fickle child and his project really brought it to an end and from there he set a long series of other goals to save the planet: plant as many trees as possible to reduce the harmful effect of CO2.

Today Felix is 13 years old and from that lesson on photosynthesis he managed to plant Fr.over a million trees: the one millionth planted on May 4 last year and the ceremony was attended by politicians and environment ministers from 45 nations.

The child also created one his association dedicated to this very purpose, from the name Plant For The Planet, supported byUNEP and currently present in more than 70 countries and with the exhortative slogan, "Stop talking, start planting", has set a new important goal: to plant a trillion new plants in ten years.

At the age of nine Felix hired the first employee of his international association, which counts today 23 employees, all 12-year-olds, little ambassadors for “Climate Justice”, who go around the world to teach adults lessons. A bit like what happened with Severn Suzukin, the little girl who silenced the mundane in six minutes.
“We would like the human beings of our generation to feel like citizens of the world” - said Felix.

After all, the concept is very simple, if there are too many CO2 emissions it means that the air must be clean and to do so you have to plant trees… Child's play isn't it?
