Giovanni Martinelli, national coordinator of the Alpine rescue dog units, did so publicly, who dedicated these moving words to her on facebook to pay tribute to her:
“Hi Greta, you have been an excellent dog of the rescue canine nucleus, with you a new formative journey began, a turning point in the history of our nucleus. You lived well your not very long years next to your conductor Katia, you were the perfect portrait of the canine unit, what we Alpini use to define a unique "beast" with six legs, a nose, a brain and a heart available to those who he needs".
Martinelli then wished her to run free, greeting all the other four-legged friends who have been missing over the years:

Greet all our furry NEVE, GLORIA, ALICE, NIF, OTTO, BECY and your mother / grandmother CANDY who will surely have welcomed you with a wagging tail. "
Remembering his strength and courage even in the last few months of difficulty:
"I want to remind you not in the last few months of difficulty, where you fought with tenacity to get out of the crisis, but in your work where you always gave your best with a generous heart, that heart that this morning waited for Katia to leave the house to stop beating , thus giving him a last gift, saving her a painful and difficult choice.
