False eyelashes: it is a horror what could happen to you if you do not take care of your extensions

Cases of eyelash mite infestations are on the rise due to extensions that are not treated and cleaned properly, as demonstrated by the video that went viral on Tik Tok by this beautician, struggling with a client suffering from so-called "lice" of the eyelash

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

A beautician specializing in eyelash extensions shared on Tik Tok why taking care of false eyelashes correctly is so important. This is demonstrated by his client who arrived with so many eyelash mites, also known as lice of the eyelashes.

Video by expert Lash Tenaj Moore quickly went viral, with over three million views.

The client was new and had been to another person for the application of her eyelash extensions previously.

"This is why it is so important to make sure your customers wash their lashes and check that they are absolutely clean."

Eyelash mites are generally harmless and can help keep eyelashes clean, as they feed on dead skin and oil, but when they get too many they can cause problems.

When there is a lot of dead skin, similar to dandruff, at the base of the lashline, it can be a sign of an infestation, which can go so far as to cause irritation and carry bacteria.

The real name of these little parasites is Demodex Folliculorum and they are also known as hair follicle mites. Their favorite place of residence is among the facial hair, therefore especially on the eyelashes, eyebrows and nose. 14 Jul 2020

People who saw the video were horrified by this revelation and many removed their extensions for it.

But Tenaj reassures: all this can be avoided by washing the lashes once a day to prevent any build-up.

According to experts, this type of infestations are on the rise and depend precisely on the fact that often those who apply removable or semi-permanent false eyelashes rarely clean them or do not clean them at all.
