To make the Christmas fireplace it is necessary to recover sturdy boxes that are all more or less the same size to create the basic structure. Better to reinforce the boxes by inserting pieces of cardboard inside them to make them more stable.

If the structure of your fireplace is resistant enough, you can add further decorations, such as nativity figures. You can use adhesive tape to assemble the boxes together. With tempera and markers you can decorate your entire fireplace, drawing bricks. Before moving on to decorations and designs, however, you will need to line your fireplace with some wrapping paper. You can also think about cutting bricks from red or brown cardboard.

Don't forget the background for your fireplace. You can make it with Christmas wrapping paper that depicts a starry sky, as you would do in the case of the Nativity scene. If your cardboard fireplace is strong enough, you can hang the Befana stockings in which to insert candies and small gifts, as you would do with a real fireplace.
