    The babies were born in California between 1998 and 2010 to mothers who lived within two kilometers of farms that used pesticides that could interfere with the endocrine system.

    The study therefore concluded that exposure to pesticides during the first three months of pregnancy, could interfere with the endocrine system of the mother and, consequently, hinder the neuromotor development of the fetus in a sex-specific way, with an increased risk of cerebral palsy in girls.
