Etna returns to enchant with a spectacular eruption in the night

Last night Etna returned to enchant the Sicilians, with a new violent eruption from the South East crater.

Etna has returned to show with a violent eruption, which in the early hours of last night kept many Sicilians glued to the windows and balconies.

Already around 19.00 the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology - Etneo Observatory had recorded an increase in Strombolian activity at the South East crater and a sudden increase in the amplitude of the volcanic tremor. And a few hours later a real show began, with a first lava flow that headed along the south side of the South East crater.

The fascinating Etna eruption, accompanied by roars and tremors, has been admired from different parts of Sicily and even from Calabria.

Within a few hours the social networks were flooded with videos and breathtaking shots of the fire show that would impress anyone, but not the Sicilians, accustomed to the sudden surprises of his majesty in Muntagna.

The citizens of the province of Catania especially enjoyed the show, who admired the extraordinary encounter between lava, clouds and snow more closely. Let yourself be enchanted by this series of wonderful photos:
