Enough of the absurd and cruel fashion of mink eyelashes (which at least Sephora will no longer sell)

No more false eyelashes made with mink fur. This was announced by the well-known brand Sephora that finally confirms a cruelty free turn.

No more false eyelashes made with mink fur. This was announced by the well-known brand Sephora that finally confirms a cruelty free turn. The company will eliminate inventory and make a permanent move to synthetic.

The horror before our eyes. Perhaps not everyone knows that alongside the synthetic ones that cost a few euros, there are also eyelashes made with mink fur, animals that are tortured, locked up in tiny cages and then suffocated, to get their coat from which furs are obtained, brushes, eyelashes and much more. For years, PETA has been fighting on this front and now finally after a mailing bomb with 280 thousand requests, Sephora confirms that it has banned this type of eyelash and that it will only buy synthetic or ecological ones. And to thank the company, the animal welfare organization, is sending a box of delicious vegan chocolates.

“There is no difference between a mink coat and mink lashes when it comes to animal suffering,” says PETA director Elisa Allen. “We celebrate Sephora's decision to join Too Faced, Urban Decay and the dozens of other brands who realize there is nothing beautiful about steal fur to an animal ".

Only a few days, in Denmark there was a real massacre. After the outbreak of a coronavirus outbreak, the minks were exterminated. Raised in the dark in dirty cages, among corpses and feces, these little animals have a dramatic existence. Many suffer from infections or broken or deformed limbs, and some come to self-mutilate, due to confinement, by gnawing on their legs or tail. At the end of their miserable lives, they are killed with gas, either by electrocution or a broken neck. “Despite this, Sephora marketed mink lashes as cruelty free,” explains PETA.

These false eyelashes, used by those who want to have more or longer, cost 60 euros and are very popular. Not only Sephora markets them, but numerous other brands. For this, PETA promises battle and asks Velor and Lilly Lashes, two companies that have previously supplied Sephora with mink lashes, to abandon the use of animal furs.

We consumers can make a difference and let's not be fooled by those who say that the fur used for the eyelashes is ethically sourced.

The dramatic images are there for all to see.

“Lilly Lashes even goes as far as marketing some mink fur lashes as vegan,” explains PETA. Nothing more false.

These companies know that mink fur comes from animals that live and die horribly.

What can you do? Buy eyelashes that aren't animal fur and join the mailing bomb to ask Dillo Velor and Lilly Lashes to truly sell cruelty-free lashes.
