Here comes a new way to help the Earth by shopping, the trolley that produces energy by walking. The solution, designed by the designers Kitae Pak e Your Jung and presented on Yanko Design, it is added to the numerous ideas and advice that we have proposed to you in recent months, such as saying no to plastic bags, reducing packaging in the fruit and vegetable department in 7 ways, preferring bulk product stores or making spending with GAS (Solidarity Purchase Groups).

Trolleys electrifying in all senses, redesigned by equipping them with wheels capable of storing thekinetic energy produced by the movement of the carriage itself subsequently transformed, by a suitable commutator, into electricity available for supermarket lighting.

The stored kinetic energy is deposited in the main storage unit when the trolley is put back in place. Just line them up, one behind the other, for forming an energy chain!

Energy expenditure: the trolley that produces electricity arrives

Designers Pak and Jung argue that the energy produced by the trolleys is capable of give electricity to the entire supermarket for a month. Could it be true?

In any case, part of the electricity needed will be generated by energy trucks and, by reducing internal consumption, it will be possible to cover a large part of the monthly requirement. The basic concept is the offer of a system micro-generation suitable for large numbers, and therefore large stores and shopping centers which, on average, host 10.000 customers a day.

For the moment thegap is still a concept presented on Yanko design looking for someone to market it, but if produced, the annual CO2 savings estimated by the creators would be about 196 tons with a significant and consequent reduction in electricity costs. Money that can be allocated to other activities that are certainly more useful and sustainable such aseducation, the development and nutrition of chi, a mall doesn't even know what it is. A desirable reduction in waste that starts from those non-places considered among the least respectful of the environment.

A day of shopping which, indirectly, will contribute to the good of the planet.
