A new test by the Austrian consumer magazine, Konsument, compared 9 electric toothbrushes, decreeing an overall winner

But what is the best electric toothbrush on the market? To find out, the Austrian magazine Konsument analyzed and compared 9 models of electric toothbrushes both classic, that is, that exploit the mechanical action of the bristles to clean the teeth, that sonic (they cause a fluid dynamic action by vibrating quickly).
These are the following models:
- Apacare Professional Sonic Toothbrush
- Braun Oral-B iO Series 9N
- Eta Sonic sonic toothbrush
- Happybrush V 3 sonic toothbrush
- Smile RM-T88 Rechargeable Sonic Toothbrush
- Oclean Air 2 sonic electric toothbrush
- Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige
- Profare wireless sonic electric toothbrush
- Sonic toothbrush Zahnheld Gero V 2
Each product was evaluated based on several parameters:
- ability to clean teeth
- practicality in using the toothbrush (operating time, timer for cleaning, ease of cleaning the device and the presence of other options useful to the consumer)
- battery life
- environmental aspects of the product
The best electric toothbrush in the test
The most expensive toothbrush in the test (the price exceeds 300 euros) was also the best, as it cleans teeth very well but is also equipped with many very comfortable "extras".
This is the Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige which, according to Austrian experts, lives up to its name. In short, an ultra-luxury product.
According to the judgment of the Austrian experts, this toothbrush looks elegant, offers some interesting extra comforts and can of course be connected to an app. But, while this product is top notch, we don't have to spend that much money to ensure proper teeth cleaning.

Moreover, if we pay attention to the correct way to brush the teeth and proceed with cleaning for a sufficient time (at least 2 minutes), we can also safely use manual toothbrushes.
