    Experts explain that the characteristics of the brush heads are not usually indicated on the packaging of electric toothbrushes. They therefore recommend choosing the toothbrushes with a solid and compact structure from the handle to the bristles.

    During the study, the heads were exposed to five types of oral microorganisms, including yeasts, molds, streptococci and gum bacteria. Some of the microorganisms found on the toothbrush heads have been associated with systemic diseases. According to Morris, there is an association between gum disease and cardiovascular disorders.
