Eco-water: the reusable and foldable bottle for tourists arrives in Rome

Eco-water. This is the name of the new reusable and foldable bottles that the Capital has made available to tourists who will not be forced to buy avalanches of mineral water bottles, but will be able to make the most of the public water - fresh and free - that flows from over 2000 fountains scattered throughout the Eternal city (280 of which are inside the Aurelian Walls).

Eco-water. This is the name of the new ones refillable and foldable bottles that the capital has made available of tourists which will not be forced to buy avalanches of bottles of mineral water, but will be able to make the most of thepublic water - fresh and free - that flows from beyond 2000 fountains scattered throughout the Eternal City (including 280 inside the Aurelian Walls).

Result of the collaboration between Zètema Progetto Cultura and Environment and Tourism Departments of Rome Capital, the Eco-water will be the perfect companion of the so-called "Nasoni" which flow one of the best city waters in Europe and in the world (limestone aside, ed).

As Antonio Gazzellone explains, Capitoline delegate for Tourism, the benefits are for everyone: “For the tourist who quenches his thirst for free and keeps the gadget as a souvenir of Rome (carrying the image of the city around the world); for the environment, given the lower consumption of plastic; for the administration, thanks to the lower costs borne by Ama for disposal “.

An initiative certainly commendable even if, in our opinion, perhaps a little too limited in distribution. The foldable Eco-Water bottle, in fact, is on sale - at the price of 2 euros - from 11 June to PIT (Tourist Information Point) of the Imperial Forums and in the libraries of the Civic Museums. The mineral water peddlers are instead located in all strategic points of the historic center. Who will have won it? What do you think?
