Wicker basket decorated

Easter: DIY baskets to make with children

You will need: a wicker basket with handle, colored cardboard, a pair of scissors and a ribbon.

Cut the card into small strips exactly as wide as the base of the basket.

Weave the cardboard by passing it through the slots in the basket, joining the pieces together with the help of the ribbon.

Add a bow on the top of the handle… et voilà! The basket is ready.

Colored cardboard basket

Perhaps the most used material by teachers to make children build small objects is colored cardboard. All you need are two large sheets of card stock in two complementary colors and a lot of patience in cutting, weaving and stapling.

Cut the cardboard into strips of about 5 cm.

Leave ten strips of one color (for example yellow) side by side clearly visible.

Intertwine ten strips of the other color (for example green) with the ready-made ones, leaving a small empty space of about 2 cm on each side.

Join the final strings of the same color and staple. Repeat for the other three sides.

Staple another strip of yellow cardboard to form a handle that joins the two opposite green sides, and a green strip to join the remaining yellow sides.

With one last strip, make a paper bow and staple it over the two handles just made to fix them in a stable way.

Green Basket of Grass

Easter: DIY baskets to make with children

As we have already seen you can make this literally green basket at least a week before Easter, and you can witness the lush growth of the grass on Easter morning!

You will need: a carton of milk or fruit juice cut in half, acrylic paint, a nail, wallpaper, soil, grass, water and a large cooler.

Color the cardboard as you like and place it inside a cooler bag.

Make a handle with wallpaper and secure it with a nail.

Add soil until the basket is 3 quarters full.

Plant the grass on top of the soil and water abundantly.

When the grass begins to sprout (after two or three days) remove the basket from the cooler. After Easter, place the seedling on the balcony and grow it.

Easter Bucket

This little project doesn't require the use of sharp objects or hot glue, so it's ideal for the little ones.

It will serve you: a plastic bucket, sandpaper, glue and some molds that are generally used on the beach.

Fill the bucket with sandpaper.

Apply stickers in the shape of an egg, rabbit or flower.

Add the molds by gluing them where you like and fill them with candies. Top it all off with some Easter grass.

Easter basket in fabric

Don't panic: you don't need to be an expert seamstress to make this little project!

You will need: a small basket, some colored fabric, zigzag scissors, cardboard, a ballpoint pen and a hot glue gun.

Use the scissors to make squares of fabric about 15 cm on each side.

Place a square upside down and prepare the pen in the center of it.

Use the pen to insert the fabric into each hole in the base of the basket. Proceed in this way for each row of the basket, considering alternating colors to make the texture more lively.

Secure everything with hot glue.

Use the leftover fabric to make a bow to attach to the top of the handle.

Fill with Easter grass… you just helped your children make the perfect gift for their favorite grandmother or teacher.

Trash from recycled plastic bottles

Le plastic bottles they represent one of the most representative waste of our time, so why not look for a smart way to reuse them? We remind you that, for the necessary materials, this project requires the supervision of an adult.

You will need: a two-liter plastic bottle, a knife, a pipe cleaner, a hot glue gun, scissors, ribbon and beads of your choice.

With the knife, cut the bottle in half and create two openings at the ends that will allow you to make the handle.

Insert the two ends of the brush into the two openings, close them and seal them with hot glue.

Use ribbon to decorate the edges of the basket (or to cover up any inaccuracies in the cut of the bottle). Also add a small bow on the pipe cleaner, to camouflage it.

Decorate the basket with egg-shaped stickers, beads or any other accessory.

Fill with Easter grass.

Straw paper basket

By simply folding a square sheet of paper straw you can get a nice basket for chocolate eggs.

1. Fold the square into two triangles.

2. Fold the two tips inwards.

3. Fold the two tips at the top outwards, first on one side, then on the other.

4. Gently spread out your basket, being careful not to lose its shape.

5. Glue a strip of paper that will act as a handle.

6. Decorate by gluing applications of colored paper to taste.
