E-cat: Rossi warns against do-it-yourself cold fusion

E-cat: Rossi warns against do-it-yourself cold fusion

Avoid DIY by attempting to reproduce the E-Cat yourself. This is the invitation of Andrea Rossi, who thus responds to those who ask him how to build the catalyst in his own home

He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

We will have to wait a little longer two years before the wonder machine, the E-Cat's Andrea Rossi and Segio Focardi, you start producing electricity, as well as heat. And, although this difference has not discouraged the buyers who flocked to Bologna to see the correct functioning of the catalyst, Rossi invites us to be cautious, especially with do-it-yourself.

It seems in fact that the possibility of produce energy at low costs with a device that at first glance seems to have the appearance of a water heater, it is tempting to many. And if we consider the increases on the energy bill, we also explain why.

Loaded with e-mails, where the machine is required to work in order to be able to rebuild it on his own, Rossi posted a message on the usual site, the Journal of nuclear physics, inviting everyone to show caution.

We report the translation than what was written by the creator of the E-Cat: “I have received many messages and e-mails from people asking me for directions to create a prototype and to replicate the effect of the Ecat. I repeat what I have been writing for some time in this blog: you have to be very careful, hydrogen is explosive and nickel dust is toxic. Attempting to reproduce the experiment is very dangerous and is only possible for professionals in suitable laboratories with correct safety equipment and suitable clothing, goggles, gloves. In particular, it is mandatory that minors are not exposed to such risks (a lady told me that she tried to do the experiment in the kitchen with her children) ".

Better avoid do-it-yourself, although the promise of amazing results may be tempting to many. These are still treated substances. Hence Rossi's invitation to be cautious, and the admonition "not to use hydrogen and nickel powder unless you are a professional with the correct equipment, experience and necessary equipment, safety devices, clothing of individual protection ".
